I’m Travis Curry, a Maryland based portrait photographer who’s been photographing weddings since 2008. I started out as a second shooter, and has lead experience with my own wedding photography clients (2011-2022). While I’m no longer focusing on wedding clients of my own, I enjoy second shooting alongside other photographers. I may take an occasional wedding referral on my own, but I’m happy to be a second shooter when my schedule allows me.

I second shot my first wedding in 2008 in Tampa, Florida. A friend of mine had a wedding photography business, which I second shot from 2008-2011. Since 2008, I’ve photographed weddings in MD, DC, VA, NC, SC, Philadelphia, NYC, Long Island, CA, and FL. I’ve been second shooting for MD & DC based photographers since 2011 and can provide references if needed.
My approach is to support the lead photographer in getting secondary images on the day of, especially when at separate locations, assisting with lighting, detail shots, setup, and posing as needed. I work as an observer, looking out for details and moments guests have that a lead may not be able to miss.
As a second photographer, I love being on the sidelines getting creative with portraits and candids while you’re photographing the couple and family formals. I can shoot cocktail hours, details, receptions, and portraits.
I’m client-focused and have 10+ years of lead and second photographer experience. I’m a team player and while I can direct a group of people, a couple, and speak with other vendors, my goal is to be a great representation for the lead.
How It All Started…

I began my Photography career working with a friend of mine who owned a successful Wedding Photography business in Tampa, FL. From 2008 - 2010 I was a second photographer with her business and photographed weddings up and down the East Coast. Since I branched out on my own in 2011, I’ve photographed numerous weddings for couples in NYC, San Francisco, DC, Annapolis, Philadelphia and beyond. I’ve photographed simple home weddings, NYC elopements and upscale designed weddings. While I continue to work primarily as a Beauty & Portrait photographer, I take on a few wedding, elopement and engagement events every year.
My experience as a Wedding Photographer has shaped the way I work in studio and with my Beauty & Portrait clients. I pride myself on going with the flow of the day and creating beautiful, love-filled images while bringing a bit of my on set directing style to the day. I believe in beauty for all sizes and strive to make my clients feel confident and comfortable for their photoshoot experiences and to create images that are fun, memorable and beautiful!
I love working with natural and available light on Wedding days however I come prepared with lighting as needed. I shoot a mixture of documentary style candids with directed portraits and an attention to your wedding details.
My approach to Wedding Photography brings a mixture of joy, love and sentimental moments through documentary-style coverage and photoshoot directing. I support Marriage Equality for ALL!
