LGBTQ+ Portraits

Portraits of Pride 2024

As we finish up Pride Month this year, I wanted to reflect on what it is to be Queer and Proud. What Pride means to me as a Queer photographer. As I reflect on the month, I have immense gratitude for the number of LGBTQ+ people that have trusted me to photograph them. Whether it’s for a professional headshots, modeling portfolio, wedding or even portraits with their partner, I’ve been invited to capture a part of their life. With any client, it is an honor, but with clients that are also in the LGBTQ+ community with me, it’s special to serve my community.

I wanted to take a look back and share some portraits of fellow Queer people and couples that I’ve photographed over the recent years. In these images, you’ll see queer folks, part of the LGBTQ+ community who are out and proud. My mission as a Photographer is to continuously make work that is meaningful and that helps represent folks, showing the world that there is beauty for all bodies. I also understand how not everyone is able to live their authentic life out and proud; I see you and just know that, you matter. Keep pushing forward, things can and do get better. Even when it feels bleak.

Representation of Queer people and Queer bodies is more important than ever these days. With the continuous attacks on our community’s human rights, especially the attacks on Trans people, sharing images to show the beauty in our community can help someone feel less alone in the world. Since we’re fully in election mode, the threat of another Trump presidency is heavy, Project 2025 is looking to be a very scary reality for many of us (and well beyond the LGBTQ+ community, too). They say not to get political in business, but my work is inherently political, especially when my community and the communities of many people that I love and care about is threatened. Someone you love is Queer, whether you know it or not.

I’ve put myself out there to stand up for humanity. I may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I have my people. I am a proud queer man and I love my community. As an image maker, I don’t just make pretty pictures… I make images that make statements.

So now, I present to you, some pretty rad Queer folks!
