Headshots for Medical Professionals: Damion Jenkins, MSN, RN

I recently invited my friend Damion into the studio for a headshot photoshoot. Damion and I have been friends for a few years now. The funny thing is that we met in NYC, but had both lived in Maryland for many years prior to moving to the city. What a small world?! It's always special when a friend supports your business!

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a lot of professionals within many industries, including the healthcare industry. I’m often working with hospitals and other medical institutions on assignments, so I’ve got a good vision for what it takes to create strong headshots for medical professionals. I’ve photographed many doctors, surgeons, nurses, researchers and specialists throughout NYC and beyond. I have major respect for these healthcare workers and I want to make each and every one of them look and feel amazing in their professional headshots.

Damion let me use my best judgment for lighting & backdrop options. Since Damion works in Healthcare, I wanted to give him bright and clean images that had a timeless look he could use for a while. Keeping his photos simple also allows for Damion to utilize his headshots in any sort of design he may need for his own professional brand The Nurse Speak - Strategies for NCLEX and Nursing Success. I knew with the lighting I had set up, I could quickly change things up and create a dark grey background to change the vibe. With this simple lighting change, it gives Damion's images a completely different look. We spent time throughout the shoot going over the images and by the time Damion left the studio, he had this final selects picked out!

I provide my clients with both color and b&w options for their images. I find that this helps expand their use of images for their promotional and marketing needs.

In the studio, I’m able to quickly change my lighting to provide a modern, editorial look for my headshot clients. This looks great in both color and b&w.

While our main focus on Damion’s photoshoot was for professional headshots, we were able to create a variety of images that Damion could use for his own personal brand. This can happen with my headshot clients, I always try my best to shoot a variety of angles, poses and crops so that you have plenty to choose from!

Are you in need of new headshots? Be sure to book your spot in one of my my upcoming Studio Headshot Days this July or talk to me about your personal branding needs. I look forward to hearing from you!
