What To Expect at Your Beauty Portrait Photoshoot

I wanted to share more information about what it’s like when you book a Beauty Portrait photoshoot with me. This is will give you a rundown of how it all works. This timeline also works for Headshots & Personal Branding Shoots.

Discovery Call

After your initial inquiry, I’ll email you to schedule a 15-minute discovery call where we will discuss your vision for your photoshoot, my collections and I can answer any questions you may have about the Beauty Portrait Experience.

Booking Your Portrait Session

Once you select the collection that works best for you, I will send you over a contract for my services and a payment link via email. I use a secure online booking system for signing contracts and taking payments. I take all major credit cards and you have the option to pay via PayPal. Once you’ve paid the session fee, your studio shoot is booked. I will then confirm the Beauty Pro (HMUA) for your shoot and get to work on a mood & style board for you.

Your mood & style board can be used a reference for us throughout your shoot. Feel free to send over any photos of work that inspires you; bonus points if you include my work in your inpo! 😉

Pre Production

After you’ve booked, I’ll follow up with my Pre-Shoot Guide and work with you to schedule your Pre-Production Call. On the Pre-Pro Call we will go over your outfit choices, I can answer any questions you may have about the Guide and tie up any loose ends before your photoshoot date. My Pre-Shoot Guide has information on how to get prepared for your shoot along with styling guidance and a few tips & tricks to help you feel excited and empowered for your photoshoot!

The Day Of Your Photoshoot

This is an exciting day! You may be a little bit nervous, but that’s okay!! When you arrive to the studio, we’ll start getting your clothes hung up, do a brief with your Beauty Pro and get you into makeup and hair!

I will guide you throughout the photoshoot, giving you direction on posing and prompts to help you step into your own power!  I’ve worked with many different people and pride myself on my ability to teach posing and movement.

How Much Time Will This Take?

Expect to take the full day for yourself! Your photoshoot will last between 3-4 hours, this accounts for time in hair + makeup, on-set shooting time, wardrobe + beauty changes along with any background + lighting changes. After the shoot concludes, we’ll take a short break to get settled in and I’ll get prepared for your Day of Reveal and Ordering Session..

Day Of Photo Reveal & Image Selection

I shoot tethered straight to my computer which allows us both the opportunity for instant feedback. If we need to fix something on set - we can. This is also a great way for you to see how you’re doing, break down posing & movement and tag our early favorites throughout the day. After our shoot, feel free to grab lunch or a coffee while I cull through your photoshoot before our reveal and ordering session.

With day of image selection, you can leave the studio having your final images selected! This is perfect for anyone that may have a tight deadline or needs a quick turnaround time.

If you prefer to wait to see your images, we can schedule a post shoot reveal & image ordering session at a later date.

Image Turnaround Time

Your images include a complimentary retouch. I will deliver your final selects through an online, password protected image gallery. Generally, final image delivery is within 7-10 days of selecting your final images. I will give you an estimate at the time of your image selection on my turnaround time. Retouched images get 1 round of additional edits if needed, any additional editing rounds will be charged on an hourly basis. Multiple rounds of retouching will affect the delivery timeline.

If you are working on a deadline for your images, please let me know when you contact me and I will do my best to make sure I can delivery your images within your timeframe.

How Far Out Do I Need To Book My Photoshoot?

Sometimes my schedule may allow me to book a shoot within a couple days notice, however, to get the most out of your photoshoot experience, I recommend booking your photoshoot between 2-6 weeks in advance. This allows us time to plan out your shoot and do any pre-shoot prep that is needed.
