NYC Personal Branding Photoshoot with Gloria

I wanted to take a moment to spotlight a Personal Branding Photoshoot that fills me with pride. My longtime client, Gloria, reached out to me for an update on her professional headshots and branding photos in NYC. It was a nostalgic reunion, considering the last time I worked with Gloria was nearly a decade ago, back when both her career and my photography business were just budding professionals in Maryland.

Gloria visited my photography studio in NYC, where I had assembled a full team for her personal branding photoshoot. Emily Amick took charge of Gloria’s hair and makeup, while Allison Koehler lent her expertise in wardrobe styling.

Every one of my portrait and personal branding clients receives my comprehensive photoshoot guide, along with my personal assistance with styling and outfit selection. However, some clients desire an extra layer of expertise in wardrobe styling, and that's where the pros come in! Collaborating with Allison was a delight; her extensive experience working on big advertising campaigns, e-commerce photoshoots and celebrity red carpet ensured Gloria received top-notch styling that perfectly complemented her personal and professional demeanor. It was heartening to see the bond between Allison and Gloria grow as they curated looks that truly elevated Gloria's presence.

Our aim for the photoshoot was clear: to portray Gloria as a leader in her industry. With a decade's worth of work and life experiences under her belt, Gloria was in need of an updated portfolio of images for her LinkedIn, speaking engagements, and social media presence. These images are poised to propel Gloria into her next career phase and promotion.

To enhance Gloria's beauty, I enlisted the talented Emily Amick, a Brooklyn-based makeup artist renowned for her work with luminaries like Venus Williams and Nicole Byer, among others. Gloria was in expert hands; Emily's skill as an artist seamlessly complemented our team.

Regarding the looks, our strategy was to start with simple, corporate attire and gradually explore other dimensions. During the shoot, we incorporated a fun blue chair we had in the studio, which perfectly complemented Gloria's look. I took the liberty of adding some simple set styling to enhance the scene. Clients are always welcome to bring along props to personalize their shoot further.
